Hey guys I have a major problem. I have a 2000 gs300 with 165k miles now on it. I had an oil leak for a while now and I took it to get fixed. The mechanic told me it was the seals and he went ahead and changed it with all the other things as well including timing belt and water pump. A couple days later I noticed the same leak again. I took it back and they did the seals a second time and after that I still have the leak and it's even worse now. It's coming from the timing belt area behind the drive belt. Anybody have the same problem or know if it is definitely the seals or it could be something else? Thank u in advance for all ur comments.

The oil is dripping onto the water pump as well through the sides do u think it can be the vvti pulley too ?

Did he replace the cam seals?

It can be cam seals, valve cover gaskets, or possibly the seal he replaced is faulty. Take it back to the mechanic, i hate mechanics.

sounds like cam seals.

could be the vvti gear or if he used after market seals that could be why its still leaking. if valve cover gaskets are bad you will find oil around the spark plugs.

Sounds like the VVTi gear pulley is leaking. They tend to go out about that mileage

+1 thats what i was thinking as i read the post. OP- you should look into the cam seals, thissounds like it may be the problem. good luck

make sure you use seals from toyota and not aftermarket ones
