Thinkin of going to a GS .....
Currently an IS owner, I'm thinking about moving to a bigger car like the GS. I wanted an LS, but they leave me less money for mods, besides, there's not too much out there for the LS.
Should I go for the 300, 400 or 430? I know Mo has given up on the supercharge, but was wondering if there were other FI options? Also, I wanted a rare body kit like the APR or Esprit and maybe a set of Rays Forged Mags. Any suggestions for an exhaust and any other mods would be greatly appreciated. I did a lot of homework on the IS, now I need to get the info on the GS.
Thanks !!!

The GS300 basically has quite a few F/I options such as turbo and supercharger options.
I'm not entirely sure if SRT has given up their supercharger systems, but Area 51 offers a supercharger kit for the GS300.
I think basically any IS300 turbo producers can somehow fit a turbo kit onto the GS300 (SRT, PowerHouse Racing, etc.). If you desire even more speed, you can always swap in a 2jz-gte engine and move from there.
For the GS400, the only modifications out there are SRT's supercharger (which Mo may have given up on) and their twin turbo system. But their TT setup costs over $30,000 (everything and installed). If you want a supercharger, you can maybe ask SRT about their old-version of their S/C setup which used a ATI Procharger setup and piece a kit together for yourself.
For the GS430, I'm not sure of any F/I options except some from Japan. If TOM's releases it, maybe you can inquire about their S/C system. Blitz offers a Twin-Blower system for the SC430 and LS430 and it might fit the GS430.
There are no U.S-made F/I for the GS430 currently (unless of course, custom), only N/A mods so far. I think Mo might carryover the TT setup to be compatible with the GS430 in the future.
You can always install a nitrous system to start out with. If you have questions about NOS kit, just PM DoubleWhoosh (Todd from TM Engineering) as he dealt with NOS systems on all sorts of Lexus cars before.
Here is a picture of the first-generation supercharger kit utilizing the ATI blower.

And frankly I don't think a 430TT could beat a GS300 with GTE swap and the leftover money invested in it. AND I think a GTE swap with mods will be more reliable than a custom-TT kit for 430.

I agree...
A GTE swap would be much more reliable and much more potential to put down the numbers than the SRT TT. Also, there is a huge aftermarket and many many reputable shops are fully trained to work on it......

Have any of you 2jz-gte swappers ever considered the resale of your car. I doubt even fellow enthusiasts will confidently believe you car is "reliable" when they are about to purchase it. Think about it, who wants a GS3 that doesnt even have its original engine installed. At least with the GS4 TT setup, the engine is still factory, despite the heavy internal mods. I know that i'd be more comfortable with a GS4 TT than a GS3 with engine swap. Plus, torque of a V8 can't be duplicated in a V6. Anybody agree with me on the resale argument?

Anyone enthusiastic enough about their GS wouldn't be thinking about selling the car. Even if they do, if they have the money for the whole engine swap or TT setup, they wouldn't worry THAT much about resale.
And 2JZ-GTE is not a V6 it's an inline 6. And yes V8 torque can be duplicated by a turbo 6-cylinder. moddec 2JZ-GTE can pretty much kill any V8 and V12 out there.

you wanna think about re-sale......
Think about this, whose going to buy a car that can only be touched by one shop and not the actual dealer that makes the car? Unless I am mistaked and there are other shops trained to work with the SRT TT setup.
At least you could take a GTE to a Toyota dealer for engine problems as it is the same unit and if not that there are countless shops that work on the engine.
Besides, if your thinking about resale you shouldn't be thinking about either of these options.
