Hi Guys,

Check engine light came on yesterday with VSC and VSC off dash lights. Car's been sputtering during acceleration, driving rough and I hear a backfire sound from the intake. Going to take it in this week, but wondering if anybody knows what it may be from hearing these symptoms? I haven't ran the codes yet, I'm at work.

Would a faulty fuel pump or timing belt cause this you think?

This sound like symptoms that were the two only major issues with my old car, the Infiniti Q45. It is one of these two items..guarantee. It's either the bad MAF or bad coil(s) causing the rough ride. Get the CEL light tested to see what code comes up. With these symptoms, it was a bad MAF with my old Infiniti. The car ran rough, would sputter (actually jerk would be a better word) during acceleration, would cut off if I was slowing down for a traffic light, gas mileage went down...

You need to get the code and then search it on here.

Don't leave the shop without the actual trouble codes they retrieve and a written estimate of what repair they recommends.

As stated above once you have the code you can search for it here on Club Lexus and/or post it in this thread. Chances are many people have already encountered and repaired the same issue(s) so you have a good chance of finding all you need in previous posts but don't be afraid to post.

Sounds like the issue I had a couple days ago. But it was the oil control valve
