Default 2001 GS430 Climate Control Issue

The fan only blows from the middle vents, not from the lower/foot vents, and the defrost vents aren't blowing either. Doesn't matter what I press, the middle vents keep blowing but nowhere else. Any ideas?

There's a thread on that you gotta change servos

OP any work been done on the car lately....? i know this sounds stupid but are you sure the vents are open? its possible them not going into defrost mode is a bad mode servo but not air coming out only of the middle vents....is air coming out of the rear center console vents and from underneath the seats going into the rear? odd issue...something is keeping the side doors from opening/closing but never heard of a servo acting this way ESPECIALLY since there is only one mode servo the odds of something like this happening is.....well slim.

.....so i have been sitting here thinking about this, after going over all the possibilities and anything that would cause this, i wonder if the linkage that opens/closes the doors to direct air flow (not the servos) is broken but this is still a odd issue.

let me go look for a picture of the a/c box i should have of my spare box

cant find mine so borrowed some from here, there is a linkage (from what i recall) running across the length of the box...it is controlled by the servo but as i said before even if the servo is messed up it should from time to time act correctly....

Thank you for the help. The car was in a pretty good wreck in 2008 and a lot of the front end was replaced. I had the timing belt replaced recently which would coincide with the defrost, etc, not working although I don't know why that would have anything to do with the issue.
There is no air coming out of the rear, just the four middle vents regardless of which mode I press.
I'm guessing one servo handles the entire operation? If that's the guess would any air be blowing if it was bad? By posting I was hoping to find an easy fix.

I would say stuck door. Shoot a flash light through the vent and see if the door is open
