Default Put Light Wheels on My GS400-wow!

I hit a massive pothole with my old Konig tantrums (18X8) and bent two of them and thrashed the tires. So I ordered those superlight 18X8 SSR Competitions and picked the car up today. That change of wheels dropped about 8 lbs. per corner I think (24 lbs. vs 16). Wow. Its light on its feet. I must add that prior to picking up my car I'd driven it for 2,000 miles on a road trip with 800 lbs. of passengers and luggage. Its tough to figure out how much that's impacting the new feeling. The guy at the tire place was blown away by the weight of the wheels. The car now just seems a lot less stressed in getting the wheels spinning from any speed. I did also have about 96 lbs. in old wheels in my trunk when it felt that great. I just wanted to let everybody how much the butt dyno measured the difference in wheels.

Oh that's pretty cool that you got new rims but sorry to hear that you bent your old ones. . anyways, i was thinking about getting some of those SSR's but didn't know how big they come in. Im guessing 18's are the biggest they come in. . another model i was considering were the GT3's i believe by SSR becaus i had a good deal on them. .

I know SSR makes the GT3 in 19-inch sizes. One pound of rotational weight is like six pounds of dead weight so lighter wheels do make a big difference .

I noticed a big difference when I went to the volks, but that's a butt-o-meter opinion only. The volks weigh in at 16# and change, but I only weighed the rims, not the stock vs. volk tire/rim combo. So I'm not sure whether what I noticed is imagined or real. I need to hit the track again, but I made a few other changes which will again muddy the results.

I've wondered what the Blue would look like with those.
