Default CEL & VSC after HID install. Help is appreciated

Hey guys. I ran into a problem after installing some HIDs into my 98 GS3. So to clarify some things up...
1) I have searched the forums and haven't seen any threads similar to my problem
2) HIDs are NOT aftermarket PNP. I picked up some OEM, I think g35, factory HIDs for free from a good friend of mine that works at their dealership and figured I would put them to use.

Ok so here’s what I did. I didn't have the factory (Infiniti) connector from the ballast to headlight so I made my own harness up from another spare HID kit. I mounted my ballasts on the car so it required me to remove my stock airbox for install. As you guys know, I unplugged the MAF sensor and one vacuum tube on the bottom to remove the stock airbox.

After completion, with the car completely off, I turned on the headlights to ensure they were working and they were. I then had to go run an errand and at that time wasn’t aware of the CEL & VSC lights.

After I got back home, I turned the car on and headlights on just to double check if they worked and they did and still do. That’s when I noticed the CEL and both VSC lights on. So I thought to myself, why would the cel light be on? And I remembered that I left the MAF sensor unplugged and the vacuum tube as well. So I shut the car off and plugs those parts in. Turned the car on and lights still on. That’s where I’m stumped, I thought maybe it’s the whole OEM ballast but then that wouldn’t make sense since a lot of people have maybe done this or retrofits.

I've know that people go and get the car pulled for any DTCs, reset the ECU by pulling the fuse or unplugging the battery, or just simply ignore the problem (Which I hate when people do). So tomorrow, hopefully it doesn’t rain here in SD, I’m going to triple check everything in the engine bay.

What would you guys do before doing anything drastic?

unplug the battery, wait 5-10 mins then plug her back in. then go from there. Check back, either way.
