I'm curious, what sub did you go with? Mine is toast as well and I just saw Wal-Mart has a 10" sony sub on sale for $20. I'm not audiophile, but I'm tired the sub rattling around back there. I just don't have a clue if it will fit (most likely not) or how difficult it will be to make it fit. - Thanks.

its not the size, but the ohms. the ML system uses a diff ohms than normal car stereo equipment...and from what i read you will F stuff up if you mix and match.

Its most likely the rubber foam arouund your speaker. happened to me. you can buy a kit online and repair ot for like $20. worked like a charm. 2 hours ripping apart the car to get the speaker out. 20 mins to fix. 2 hours to put back together lol.

or ML subs are like $300.

This is the one I purchased, after seeing a couple recommendations for it on this board:

http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-07C108-...d=ZW8P986DI1VP

It's 8 ohm (stock is 6 or 8, I think), so it'll be fine for the amp. It's rated for free air use. I hope to tackle it yet today - I'll have to cut a custom MDF mounting board of some sort that'll mount onto the rear deck, then the sub will mount into that. I have seen a thread here with pics of how a guy did it but will have to find it again.

The sub is sold on Amazon but through a third party seller, so it took longer than usual to get to me...but it appears brand new so I'm satisified.

Update: found the thread -- lots of info on sub replacement, and repair of the ML sub, if you choose that route instead. It's long, but it's an excellent thread. I even see that at the very end, my question that started this whole thread was actually answered, haha.
