The car on the left is my '98 GS400 with unmodified 01+ tails, the car on the right is an '01 GS430 with unmodified tails. Both light up exactly the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe the dual filament bulbs are for euro spec GS's with inner tails as rear fogs.

98-00's have 7443 bulbs for their parking lights also. Let's not forget BananaGS's DIY...

Op, sorry for delay, I just checked. But yes both inner and outer lights light up when the brakes are pressed. However the car had the lights installed when I bought it so not sure how they are wired or if there is a specific harness. I will update soon, because I will have to change one of my pink inner lights.

Where I live, ive never seen the outer lights light up when pressed. And I go to a lexus mechanic all the time. I am not sure why the outer lights light up with you guys.

I put 01 tails on my 98 and its the same as the rest like thomas' picture.

I think some people are talking about the trunk tails, although we are talking about the inner/outer lights on the outer tails.
