I recently replaced my transmission mount on my 2001 GS430. Unfortunately, I didn't take notice to the way the cross member was facing when I dropped it down. Apparently there are 2 different ways the cross member could face depending if it was a 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder. I reinstalled mine with the V8 arrow facing to the front of the car. Can anyone tell me if I installed it incorrectly, or am I OK?

or if anyone has their car up in the car & could get me a pic...or have a picture of the underside of a GS430, that would help too.

The xmember has a slight curve to it. It won't bolt up backwards to the respective transmissions. If u already put it on and had no trouble lining up the holes your good to go..

these are old but these are the best ones i have. just a little tip, snap a picture BEFORE you start and during so if you forget or are unsure you have a picture to guide you. i think mike is right though, i dont think it will bolt in backwards

sweet! thanks very much guys. i really appreciate it. i was getting a noise with hard accelerating from a stop. i thought it had something to do with the trans mount. but once my tech checked it out, he saw that it was my motor mounts. trans mount was definitely bad. but the motor mounts were bad too.

thanks for your input & those pictures guys!
