Anyone tried this? Does it really work? I apologize in advance if this was a previous thread topic.

Don't laugh too hard or too early....
The basic idea is sound.
If the ECU "thinks" the engine is getting more dense airflow than it actually is then it will increase the fuel/air mixture ratio. Now the oxygen sensor may "catch" the "discordance" and give the ecu feedback to correct the mixture, but maybe not fully. With that much advance the knock sensor might come into play but with a rich mixture that is less likely.
I certainly wouldn't ever run this "mod" with anything less than high octane fuel.
It would be interesting to know just how many degrees F the modification gives.
For myself I would be tempted to only have the resistor in the circuit at WOT, that way the oxygen sensor would not have already provided the feedback to correct the mixture and I would still get the extra HP for the short duration of WOT.
I would be tempted to try the inverse of this "mod" first, leaner mixture (rely on the knock sensor to protect the engine), and see if the MPG rating actually increases substantially.
