New MYs are usually on the lots in the Fall, aren't they? No significant changes are planned, so resale values should not be affected much.

Sorry but you are wrong. The next generation of the GS will be out at the end of next year. It will be presented at the IAA in Frankfurt, Germany. You have to consider that the current GS was presented in 1997 at the IAA in Frankfurt which makes 6 production years for the current model. Considered this the completely new one should be available at the end of next year.

OK, but I never claimed to be right; I was just trying to be helpful, and shed some light. See the words think and rumor?

BTW, from what reference do you garner such absolute evidence?

Dex, I am awfully sorry for being so impolite if this is the case. Well, just as you used the words "think" and "rumor" I used the word "should". Moreover I have searched through many places in/on (?) the internet and everywhere I found the information that the new GS will be out at the end of 2003 which means ready for MY 2004. As I wrote above this would make sense because the current version came out in 1997 (MY1998). After six years it is time for a model change. I think that this would be an excellent time point because Lexus will introduce the new RX in the first half of 2003 and they will start with the new IS-series in late 2004. Between these two model launches is much time that must be filled. And since the GS will be "old" enough for a new generation...well, it just makes sense.

From what I understand, the next redesign is in 2004 and the 2004 GS will be an early release. Hence, they will begin selling it to the public in the Spring of 2003.

Oh yeah, how about AWD on a GS?

As for IS, Lexus informed AutoNews (if anybody cared to read the front page article), that they are doing "redesign" of the IS for 2005 with options like AWD, convertible and coupe to fight compete against the 3-Series.

But, how bout AWD IS430?

Ethan

Justin, I agree with you, just wanted to see what your references were. I was just trying to recount the info that has been brought up here about a billion times from memory. No big.

I for one hope to god it is NOT AWD. Coming from an AWD car, I think RWD is a LOT more fun.

I've been looking for any info. since on the internet - has anybody seen any spy pics of it yet?

TIA!
