Default 98 LS400 calipers brakes?

I got a 98 LS400 calipers installed in my car almost to 2 years now with 15,000 miles. I installed the spacers and RCA. When it was installed 2 years ago the brake pads are new. I also got a pair of drilled/slotted rotor installed.
Now, When I brake hard from 60s, it tends to shake a little in the front left. From my experiences, the vibrate when hard brake means uneven brake pads with rotors. Mine is on the front left.

My question are:
1) Will the drilled/slotted rotor cut the brake pads more? I think my brake pads are little low.
2) What is a good brand for the 98 LS400 brakes?

Thanks!

Pad wear will not cause the symptoms you describe.
Possible causes would be uneven wear or warpage of rotors, loose caliper mounts, binding caliper slides, and/or worn steering and/or suspension components.

Rotors should be mic'ed and checked for runout, all mounting hardware checked for proper torque, caliper slides checked for free movement, proper lubrication and intact seals, and all steering and suspension components checked for excessive play.

Vibration at the calipers is probably a good sign to have it checked out. Pads maybe low, but the rotors maybe warped and needs re-surfacing. Not sure if re-surfacing is an option on drilled/slotted rotors.

Yes, in general....drilled and slotted rotors do cut into the pads more than a normal rotor would.

I'd go with stock Toyota pads fo the LS400 pads.

I went to my mechanic yesterday. He said my rotor is bad. He told me to get a new set of rotor without drilled or slotted. Drilled /slotted rotor can not be cut. My brake pads still have alot left.
He was busy I didn't ask that much in detail. If I put in a new rotor, will the old brake pads make the rotor warped again?
How long does the drilled/slotted rotor last? I only have it less than 2 years. What is a good source for a set of rotors? I prefered drill/slotted because its more efficient and looks better.

You can resurface drilled/slotted rotors, but you have to find a place with the machine for those rotors.

Just checked with all popular tire shops and they don't cut drilled rotors.

Is any good value brand of drilled/slotted I can try?
After I replace the rotor, should I replace my brake pads while its still have 70% left?

Thanks!

I changed the rotor and the shaking went away. I kept my original brakes because it still has 80% left. When I braked before when I changed the rotor, it has little noise at the beginning but slowly went away. Now the braking is excellent!!!!

Slotted/drilled all the way!!!! It wont look good on regular rotors with painted red LS400 calipers.
If it shakes again, I am going to chance it again. haha

Heads up, You can get drilled/slotted rotors resurfaced on a blanchard grinder. Check with your local machine shops.
