Smile Torn door edge molding that's along the bottom of the front doors... FIXED!

This has annoyed the @$#E@ out of me for 2 years now, but I finally found a product that works.
Before this, I tried tape, crazy glue, 3M glue, etc.
Anyways, its called-Plastic Welding System, I bought it at Napa.
Comes with 2 tubes of glue, mix the ingredients together and apply to the inside (the unpainted part of the trip, inside part of the door). After it dried, I used a razor blade to trim the extra glue and made everything look neat.
I figure this should hold for a few years, unless a passenger opens the door and the bottom scrapes against the curb.

I should of done what you did. I just bought the peice and installed it. It came painted and was only 35$ I was shocked to find it so cheap.

Great timing! The piece you're talking about (I think) on mine just ripped into a much larger gap from the small previous tear.

Couple of questions:
1) Is this the piece you fixed? Just want to confirm..
2) Is the stuff you bought black, clear or some other color?

DaveGS4-No, that's not the peice that I am talking about. I'm talking about the part that is ON the door itself. Its on the bottom of the door.
But you're lucky, your part can be easily replaced and its cheap too.

acnup00tl- I was about to replace it but since my car is pearl white, over time, the bottom of my car faded and is yellowing, just a little. If I replaced just that molding on one door, the color would not match with the rest of the car, it would stick out like a sore thumb. When I thought about replacing all the moldings, that would add up to over $300 so it wasn't an option either. Luckily, I found the cure. I recommend that anyone with the smallest tear, to fix it early before it spreads.

I thought I was alone. . .I thought I was abusing the car and making the door strip break, and the black seal crack. Now I know I'm not alone. I feel afraid, but there is hope.
