Default Taillights out but brake lights work? Help

I searched about this info and couldnt find a definative answer and was hopin maybe you culd help me here. I just got this car sunday and I am almost positive the taillights worked then. They are the LED lamps with the white stripe ont he bottom. I dont have the fuse covers to tell me what fuse is what but the other day a very nice member took some pics of the drivers side and engine fuses for me. i checked the one that said TAIL and it had a 15amp fuse when im pretty sure its suppose to be 10 (his was a gs430 but the diagram should be the same for a gs400) and it wasnt blown but i put the proper 10a in there. the weird thing about this is, the brake lights work, the turn signals work its just the taillights dont (when you turn your headlights on they shopuld illuminate) and i dont have the stock tails to test them. Sooo, what do you guys think it is? Maybe a relay and wheres that located. Any help would be great

Is it one specific tail light or all of them?

You got LED tails you must put the resistors on in order not to trigger the brake lamp failure.

ok ill have to check that, they were installed by the previous owner. where would these resistors be at, at the fuse box or back by the taillights. and the brake lights work its just the taillights dont, the light that comes on when you turn your headlights on is whats not working. the turn signals and when i apply the brake work. rather frustrating lol

So your parking brakes don't work. Have you checked all connections? The connections on the LED tail lights can some times become loose. You'll have to go to the direct connection into the light and see if they are snug. I had a problem with mine and I pushed them back in tight and they all worked again.

getting a test light in a bit, how do i use that for the tail lights?

also i just got the layout of the drivers side fuse box and i removed a wire from TAIL to SRS-ACC. it was a little speaker wire that the previous owner jump from the tail fuse to the SRS-ACC fuse. im going to put it back in and see if that works but what would be the reasoning behind that?

Assuming your outer, inner, spoiler or 3rd brake light are all working, you got a defective brake lamp failure unit. You can get one used from ebay. They are not cheap either. Or you can do the bypass. Theres a thread about it

Since you got LED tails, you must have a resistor box if u dont want the light to trigger on dash
