Default Did you tried AT-205

I think I have the same problem. Much smaller amount of oil thought. It just hanging around between the front of the transmission casing and the rear end of the engine block. The freaking Lexus Specialist mechanic won't tell me exactly where. He said he find out when he doing the timing belt. the total cost is somewhere above two grands. Hell. I gonna give the AT-205 a try. My GS300 only got 98K on it.. I had 8 oz. of ATP AT-205 in the engine. I will let you know if the leak is stop. My barely consume any oil thought. Lol, i actually recommended this product to be used on worn bushings. But yes, try the stop leak. Cheap lazy fix.

don't use those leak stop stuff. they can cause problem somewhere else.fix the problem the right way. take it to other shops to do it.it doesn't have to be a dealer. also. it may leak from oil pan. check and see.

I agree the stop leak uses chemicals that soften the rubber and if the seal is not torn it will stop or slow the leak but it also weakens the seal. Not only the leaky seal but also every seal the oil with the stop leak touches. Sooner than later your leak will come back with a vengeance. (hope your not **** about your drive way been stain free)

For the op I suspect the guy did not change your valve cover gasket correctly. There is a small inspection cover on the transmission bell housing ( probably two bolts hold it on) if you remove the bolts and the inspection plate and put your pinky finger in there and there is oil it's probably the rear main if not get another mechanic to do the valve cover job correctly. Of course if there is oil in the bell housing you need to pull the tranny out so you mAy is well change all the tranny seals since the labor is the biggest cost and that will be leaking soon. And don't put in those cheap *** orally seals put the Toyota stuff in there

Yup where the engine and tranny meet. You can run with the leak as long as you want as long as you keep an eye on the oil level and don't mind oil all over the car, the smell of oil burning on your hot exhaust oil all over your drive way and messing up everybody's drive way you park at. Just dont park near my house please

If your seals are leaking at the front of the engine change seals and timing belt ASAP because timing belts don't like oil and valves don't like bad timing belts (these are interference engines you know)

Default AT-205 Update

Ok, So here is the new(s). The teardrop is no longer there, where the tranny and the rear engine block meet. I will wash the car this weekend and will definitely confirm if it fixed the leak. BTW, I have another 8 oz. in my 98 camry for two weeks now, and it seem to reduced the amount of burning oil (blue smoke every freaking morning) LOL, so much for "Toyota Quality" @ only 125K. . It didn't stop the leak completely. Seal probably cracked before AT-205. Too early to tell, but I think the gas mileage may increased a little bit in the Camry after AT-205. No indication of check engine lights. Nothing on either car.
