Prob just set aside for savings. On another note, please try to make sure you are NOT getting a substantial amount of money back on next years tax return. Basically, you are lending the goverment your money throughout the entire year tax free! and they simply give it back to you come tax time. You could have potentially have more usable cash each month. Imho, its nice to get maybe 1000 bucks back so its a little forced savings. If you want to maximize your monthly cash, speak to your accountant on how to adjust your withholdings on your paycheck...then speak to your HR dept. Sorry for the advice for those that knew this already!
Keep in mind too not everyone's larger returns are just from what they pay in but also real estate, loan interest, expenses, donations, and home repair.
For instance a small part of my return this year is about $1500 that is from buying applicable energy star shingles, water heater, hvac, windows, and insulation for an addition I've been building. (which is one of the few reasons my car is always on the back burner).. Which isn't really free money back, since products that meet the criteria are generally a bit more expensive to buy, but with the kick back it's about what less efficient items would have been with no tax break, but it should also help save utilities in the coming years.
Saving tho. Good idea if these guys can control themselves, unfortunately the modified cars forum crowd has a bad habit of spending...
To the contractor I hire to repair the base of my driveway and if I have any money left it'll go towards parts for the front of the car ie. bushings & FIGS toe ends.
