Default spacers issue.....is this safe?

im trying to fit a set of 15mm spacers with built-in studs on my front wheels but the pockets on the back of my wheels are not deep enough for my factory studs to go into, therefore the wheels dont sit flat against the spacers

Would it be safe if i cut off the tip of the studs, the part where its not threaded? without those, it should fit in the wheel pockets just fine. I just want to get opinions from others before i make a move on it. Thanks

I agree. Grind cut away. Just be careful when approaching threads.

Obviously grinding down the tip of the studs would run the risk of damaging the thread. What I would do is get a thicker spacer and make sure its hub centric so you don't have any wheel vibration issues, and live with it.

Yes, cut the tips off so they don't hit the inside of the wheel and allow the spacer to sit flush like they should.

I only need less than 5mm so I won't be cutting right up to the thread. I'd like to keep it 15mm cause it fits just fine without problems and yes, I have hub centric spacers. Thanks!

If you do not have a thread chaser, use an open ended lugnut, then thread the chaser or nut all the way down the wheel stud, then trim the tips. After you remove the tips, remove the chaser or nut. This will help just in case you happen to cut into the threads of the stud, and straighten them out. Sometimes, when you trim studs, the threads can get messed up, and the end result is a cross threaded lugnut and then a broken wheel stud.

^^^ what he said... measure the gap that you have now to determine how much to cut off... cut off most of it with a cutting wheel of some sort then file the rest to clean it up and to precisely shorten it..
