I've read the GS 400 could do around 180 if it was not governed. I think 165-170 would be a more accurate number, though.

I figured these would run out of steam around 160.

I think I've been up to 130 max in my GS. I never have enough room ahead of me or if I do then I'm afraid of deer on the road I drive. Otherwise I would push this car to its limits.

Awesome! I wonder if my 00' 400 could pull that hard to 140 it's pretty impressive for a car of that size,

I too have heard that. I agree though , 180 seems like a stretch. But I still enjoy the look on my friend's faces when I tell them my car goes 180. Lol

No way in hell a car that puts down around 250whp and weighs 3600+ lbs can do 180.

Hmmm...if given the right gearing and enough room, why wouldn't this be possible? Sure, it would be slow as dirt getting up there due to the shallow gearing...but I think it can be done.

True, besides what's 40 more miles an hour anyways?

Contributing to the stable, accurate handling are the optional ($215) 8 x 17 alloys fitted with Bridgestone Potenza 235/45ZR tires. Although the tires are rated for speeds beyond 149 mph, the car is electronically governed to 149, even though it has a theoretical top speed of about 180 with a drag coefficient of a lowly .29 (down from .31).
