how much resistance is consider a short?

Not sure what the upper limit is. But if you have it on the beep test and it beeps it would be a short. test without the bulb

Well i got a multi meter and took the door panel off now i just need to figure out how to test the door ecu and the door lock sensor or whatever.

I just find it strange that all other door functions like windows and locks still work, isnt that what the door ecu does?

check the voltage at the plug that plugs into the light that is not working

If you have voltage at the plug then (with the plug still disconnected) check the resistance from the terminal to terminal on the light socket (the thing the plug plugs into that is on the door panel) Check it without the light bulb. Your resistance should be infinite ( a 1 blinking on most meters)

If you dont have voltage at the plug then check voltage at the fuse also check resistance across the fuse with fuse removed just to make sure it is good (this should be zero or near zero resistance)

So i turned out to be the door ECU. I guess a circuit inside is fried, the master tech jumped the input to the output ecternally and it works.

Trying to decide weather or not to replace it. 260 from Carson or 100 on ebay...
