I did a srt intake back in day. It felt like some improvement but who know....just loud as hell
remember in a car you can have 2 of the 3 things fast, cheap, reliable
so if you want fast and cheap...no reliablity
fast and reliable...not cheap
and

Get the SRT intake, Headers, and then get the Merge Pipe and Exhaust that JBrady mentioned in the past so that you make the maximum power out of this system. Then get a Performance Torque Converter and a Valve Body Upgrade. If you want better performance while you are turning then get a LSD. Once you have done all of this you are pretty much out of bolt ons for the GS 400.
Also make sure that you have a good suspension for putting the power down. A suspension too stiff will bounce/ skid when you launch but you don't want your suspension to be super floaty either. Also, get some good tires, you don't want wheel spin.
After all of this you should have a pretty quick GS 400, The sad thing is, it still probably won't break 5 seconds 0-60 unless you have a great launch.
If you want the GS 400 to really shine you need to boost it, so save up 5-10 thousand dollars. Good luck, man.

Don't forget some people swap in the GS300 3.92 rear gear which will make the 400 way snappier, although it will hurt gas mileage some. (you can also go way up there with the 4.xx SC gearing) It's a cheap upgrade at like $100 for the diff and will get the car going much sooner, and will actually have more noticeable effect than pretty much any single bolt on exhaust/intake mod will give.
TTurbopimp had a bad *** Built Twin Turbo V8 UZ 6spd and he sold it all and is now doing a Single Turbo 2J in the same car, got to make you wonder????
