2001 Lexus GS 300

-taillights look like from 98-2000. did some 2001 model have these taillights too? maybe he swap taillights. i hope they didn't change taillights due to an accident or anything.

-the steering wheel look like 2001 and up. or maybe owner swap steering wheels.

-other than taillights and steering wheel, how can you tell if the car is 98-2000 or 2001-2005 model.

-waiting on reply from owner to get vin number to verify year.

thanks lexus gurus!

Yea the brake lights are defiantly from a 98-00.
The steering wheel looks correct for a 01 and above 300.
I would ask some questions..

Looks like they went cheap and put in the 98-00 tail lights. Everything else looks like it's an 01+

check underneath, behind the bumpers, and basically places that are not out in the open.
if the car has been repaired, most times there will be telltale oversprays.
or just ask for a carfax to be sure.

To accurately find out if it's an 01, look at the 10th digital # from the VIN and it should say "1".

01+ GS300's have E-Shift, 98-00's do not.

Try running a carfax as well, if it was in a rear end collision they might of went through the insurance.

Yea the car seems to be 01 with the steering wheel, silver around cluster, front grill, MAF sensor on air filter.
