Default Question on Rear main seal and quote

Hey fellow members,
I was searching last night through the forum as i saw a big puddle of oil in my driveway. I've already changed my valve cover gaskets and crank and cam seals. I hear references to the bell shaped part of the underbody and wondering if this is it when they say it's the rear main seal. This is where my oil is leaking from. Also what are the prices you guys are paying to have it fixed, just don't want to get ripped off?

2001 Lexus GS300

Thanks,
Johnny

Rear main seal from Sewell Lexus is about $35. You have too drop the transmission and flex plate to get to the seal. $270. to $600. depending on the shop for labor.

Thanks Bigez. I ordered the seal last night thinking it was that and now looking to find a reputable shop to do it. Thanks for the price range quote. I needed that. I'm going with anyone besides the dealership so hopefully it is closer to the 270 price. lol

Seal is cheap, the labor is where the cost comes in. Find a reputable shop that charges fair. If a shop charges $50/hr times 5hrs, that gives you $250. I doubt you get it that cheap, more towards the 4-500 mark is what im guessing

This is next on my to do list. Just replaced cam and crank seals and valve gaskets. Tech said there is a very slight leak here, so I'll keep my eye on it
