I currently have a 97 es and i am thinking of trading it in for a gs . I love the wide body look . What are the pros and cons from a current owner stand point .

Thanks

What do you GS400/430/300 people normally get (avg. MPG)?

njes300,

Go for the GS. You won't regret it. Get a 4 if you can but 3s are nice too. I have a 3.

XenonES3,

98 GS300. Roughly 20mpg, 70% highway 30% street.

Talking

Xenon, currrently about 15-16 mpg, 90% city driving, driven moderately aggressively. (01 GS430). He'll need to L-Tune the suspension (minimum) if he moves from the M5.

Honestly, you can FEEL the build quality difference in the ES and GS sedans. If you can move up, I would. RWD>FWD IMO too. I've had an 2002 ES 300 for a week, and I could not wait to get back to the GS. Es 300 is so much more sedate than the GS. GS is roomier too.

Thats my problem partially too NJ, I'm debating 03 ES vs 03 GS. I've driven my Dad's 98 LS in the snow, and if it is any idication, its going to be really bad. In fact, I've found it does BETTER in the snow if you just shut VSC off and leave it in ECT snow. The VSC does a great job in the rain, but it reacts too quickly in the snow.
