Default Oil type?

Hey guys!! Im new to the GS family. I own a GS300 with 89000 going to be changing the oil but not sure what was in there before. The history shows oil changes done every 3000 miles wondering if its good to go with synthetic oil for these type of engines?? any suggestions? Thanx for help.

Until you start burning or leaking then it can get spendy. That's why I stick with conventional.

Your wasting your money if you change synthetic every 3000 you can go 10000 on synthetic if you are going to change every 3000 use conventional

I've been running full synthetic for the last 3+ years with no issues. I change my oil just twice a year and have not found any signs of leaks since making the switch from conventional.

As I hear many vehicles that changeover to synthetic can start burning oil... I just bought this car and from the carfax history looks like they have been using conventional oil, but to be on a safe side wanted to go with synthetic... any other people using synthetic with no problems?

5w30 Mobil1 Synthetic since day 1, works great. Valvoline Synpower is good too. If your looking for super performance, Royal Purple or Amsoil are the way to go

Switched mine to Napa synthetic at 135,000 when I bought it, not sure what was used before but absolutely no problems here pushing 200,000 miles.

My car was always serviced with synth 5w30 (Castrol) at the dealership. I switched to M1 5w30 synth. My engine doesn't burn any oil.
