Hello fellow Lexus folks, its been a while since i posted. So im abou to hit 100k and its time to bring my car into a dealership for the 100k maintenance. I noticed my belt is looking cracked and lately i have been smelling a burning smell? i checked the oil and its good. I cant figure out what can be causing the smell. I figure its time to change the tranny oil and diff oil ans the belt? anyone know what can be causing this smell? any other essential services that should be done? Thank you all in advance, this site has always had my back!

Anything at the dealer is going to cost a lot. Depends on the dealer, but around me they have an hourly rate of $160+ or so; whereas my local mechanic who does good work charges $100/hr.
Both just go by the book for labor hours, but just right there you have 2x. Parts follows the same story.
If you want to find a local mechanic, you can use cartalk.com site, or yelp to find recommendations. If you want more of a specialist, be sure to look if they are familiar with toyota/lexus; and not specialists for only European or American (Many shops do everything, some shops only focus on one thing).
Since you have a 12year old car with some obvious issues, the dealer is going to suggest a lot of services. It's going to be a lot.
You need to weigh and decide if it is worth it to spend that much and how much longer you want to keep this car.
As far as "essential services" read the service supplement manual (the book in your glove compartment) and see what services you have not. Do know that if you are way behind on service, a lot of the "inspect" items might turn out to recommend work.
If you don't have that manual, you can get it in the lexus website, by registering and then going to the owner's section.'
