Default Anyone running aftermarket Engine management?

Hey everyone,

Coming to the point in my build where i have to consider engine management. (VVTi 2JZ into 2000 GS300)

Im settled on an Autronic SM4 with a 2JZ plug and play loom.

My question is, is there any part of the body electrics that require the factory ECU to work?
By body electrics i mean anything not associated with the operation of the engine directly.
The car is going Manual so i dont need to worry about keeping functions related to the Auto transmission.

I.E do i need to retain the Factory ECU and wire the Autronic as a piggy back to control engine parameters in order to have everything work properly?

Any info or experience with this would be sexcellent!

I haven't, check on Lextreme, they might know much more.

What is your goal with the piggy back?

Its not an actual piggy back. Its a stand alone system. however if i need to retain the factory ecu to keep full functionality of the vehicle then ill wire it to control engine parameters on the factory ecu.
