Default Interesting conversation about brakes?

Hi long time lurker, I have read alot of post on coilovers vs spring and shocks, brake pads, rotors and many more interesting and insite full topics. I have to replace my rotors and wanted to purchase a sale item with the brake pads. Informing my self by reading a lot on the topic of drilled, slotted and oem. I went to a site and chatted with on line help and I want people to chime in on what the sales associated said, I remove vendors name, sales person and phone number only left rotor brands name:

05:46:45 PM [jorge] life time warranty? on rotors
05:47:47 PM Hello and thank you for contacting xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. My name is XXXX F.
05:47:55 PM [jorge] Hello
05:48:21 PM "Your Roto-Tech Performance Rotors are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty" the warranty is for defects only, not wear.
05:48:50 PM [jorge] defects like warping?
05:49:15 PM No, warping is not a defect, warping is from the pads & caliper.
05:50:56 PM [jorge] My understanding is warping is from heat, wear is from a compound that is to hard?
05:51:31 PM The warranty will not cover Warping, sorry. Only defects from the manufacturing.
05:51:34 PM [jorge] Pad Compound, how about cracking?
05:52:30 PM I have been in automotive for over 12 years, I have not seen a rotor crack, should it call us with your order number at 1-800-xxx.xxxx
05:52:58 PM [jorge] Ok
05:53:27 PM [jorge] Thanks
05:53:36 PM If there is anything we can do to help you in the future, let us know. We will be glad to assist you.

I bought my 2000 GS400 used, finish paying for it now I am ready to do some upgrades. So if I was not going to do any upgrades, in does 4 years. I felt I had nothing to talk about till now. I plan to do the suspension, brakes, rims, front end, paint and what ever my budgets, wife and bills allow me to do? That is why this is my first post.
So How many think that warping is not a manufacturing defect or what?

If it came warped new then it's a defect for which you can swap and get new rotors.

If it came normal, but warped later or over time, it's not a defect, it's just a result of what happens sometimes to rotors through use or misuse. To say it's a defect, is like saying your tires lost all their tread after 50,000miles, and it's a defect in the tire. Or your wiper blades no longer wipe smoothly after 4years, it's a defect.

BTW, 4years... if you were thinking about "upgrades", the sooner you do them the sooner you can enjoy it and use it before the car falls apart.

I would go with the smooth brake rotors not the cross drilled or slotted

Thanks for the reply.
Car only has 120,000 miles with all the lexus maintain, so if the car gets taking care of it will last longer than 5 years, I am saving money on 400 to 500 a month to bank and having full cover insurance, that is 6000 a year and about nearly 2000 a year for full coverage. So if I spend at least 2 to 4 a year I believe tha I am still ahead of the game. Plus I like tinkering.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I have read that post, I like either the smooth or the slotted. I have not decide yet, I am looking into the brake pads first, low dust. They are so many choices. It seams alot of people that install after market like the slotted or drilled rotors, even if they do not use it to the full advantage. Its like me buying coilovers even if I will not be using the car on the track. I guess just to lower the car for looks.

He states in 12 years he has not seen a cracked rotor, I believe that warping of a rotor has to do with the manufacturing process and the materials use. If under normal daily driving, using the proper intended brake pad compound you only get let's say 4 years or 50k miles out of them I guess they are good, anything less should be defect. I also wonder if the stress cracks will happen under normal daily driving, I guess it will since expansion and contraction due to heat.
