Just got my Onyx Black GS4! Amazing story!
I just wanted to say hello to everyone and share my story! I was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus SEL station wagon for about 2 years before I met my close friend and user on this forum, kDick91. As soon as he saw my wheels, he told me to start shopping for another car. I had never really been into vehicles before, and had really just looked at them as a means of transportation from A to B. Slowly but surely he brought me up to speed with how cars really work. Needless to say he started a fire inside me, and was carefully tending the embers. We went on a road trip to Texas, where he introduced me to his pride and a joy, a 2000 Trans Am with LS1 motor. As soon as I sat down and the engine revved, I knew my life would never be the same. And so the hunt began, we posted adds on Craigslist and began making calls to locals and dealerships. We didn't get any bites until a young family stopped by to take a look. Eventually we came to a deal, $7500, and were in the process of gathering funds, when they bailed on me 16 hours before the signing over of the title. It broke my heart. So, in an attempt to find a solution, my friend took me out to the dealership where the car of my dreams was resting. It was a 1998 Onyx GS 400, with chrome wheels and spoiler. We looked it over, and boy, was it clean. only 108k miles, new brakes and tires, and a freshly replaced timing belt. As soon as I heard the news, I knew I wasn't driving back home in a Windveil POS. All I had was my car, title, and silver tongued colleague to combat the dealer with. And to make a long story short, here's some photos...
And now the real fun begins! I've got the car sea-foamed, getting the LBJ's replaced, oil change, gasket covers, and some minor interior furnishings, but other than that, I am truly one lucky guy!
