OP, it would help to know that you are asking about your GS400.

Cam seal replacement could double the cost of this service.

just want the general maintenace of the timing belt at 90k service. Nothing more, but I heard they replace your water pump and seals and saw that thread, just want to make sure that's the same parts and what the part #'s are so I can order them asap
have a 2001 gs430 with 89788 miles on it

On my service I did the following:

Timing belt, water pump, cam seals, oil pump seal and I had to change out the cam gear pulley because it was seized on my cam.

Probably missing something but do everything in there once its apart because you'll be paying 2x for it to go back together.

The key is to talk to the mechanic and let him know to inspect and evaluate hings while he's in there and give you a call with recommendations for anything else to do once he's got everything taken apart.

If they are any good at all, they have access to parts that they can get within hours, and not at an onerous price.

Otherwise you may be missing both ways, either buying and changing parts that are still good, or not changing parts that will fail soon.

Replace the belt, pulleys and the water pump. Everything else is overkill unless you witness a problem while you are in there

Second that. Don't mess with seals if they don't leak or you have extra few hundred to drop on this service
