Default Side mounted sub enclosure in a gs

Going air soon, don't want to loose my spare tire, but don't want to loose bass in the trunk. i was thinking about side mounted enclosure or a good free air speaker for the 2nd gen GS.

I'm looking for something like this but have not seen any. (I know i can go have it made but don't want to go through all of that right now..I'm doing too much already LOL)

I'm actually in the process of making my own fiberglass side mounted enclosure. This is my first time messing with fiberglass, so i'm starting off with one, but will eventually have one on both sides.

Have just finished the mould, so i will hopefully have the majority of it done this weekend and then finish off on the next weekend.

Ive taken a few pics which i'll post when i'm done.

Kicker C10 is what I have mounted free air in the rear factory sub location.

I personally would go with the side mount because for me the sides are just unused space anyway.

Nar8ta I'd say side mount
Reverse setups look good but the magnet sticking toward middle of trunk can get messy if you actually use your trunk space for items lol
I also plan on putting my air setup in same place as you and will do side mount
I have sundown sa series 12 they can go for little airspace and sound quality is definately there and it beats!
Right now I have one under deck lid in a ported box but when I switch to air I'm puttin one more having one 12 on each side
I definately wanna keep my spare tire cus I actually used mine this past week
I was planning on puttin pancake tank down there but changed my mind obviously lol

I went for one of these: http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/swr-m100

It's a marine sub that is designed for IB/Free Air application. If you're going the OEM replacement route - this is the way to go. I got the idea from a member that posted his install in my old thread here.

If you want to go bigger (12"), you should look into the custom made subs from Elemental Designs. There is another company that does them but I can't remember the name off hand. Both are fairly priced and I'm sure would sound awesome.

My SWR-M100 pounds like hell and rattles the INSIDE of my seat belt assemblies to hell I haven't found any way to fix it yet. I've also managed to loosen up my headliner so now that rattles too, lol..

Thanks fellas, I'm leaning towards the side mount as well....anyone have a spot which does this. I wish there was a prefab verision out there. We need a mold. I know Tony from atlanta did some custom fiberglassing. I would buy one asap.
