Acura has a 2 setting push-toggle button for this. If it's pushed in, it's on "AUTO" and will autodim automatically if your car's headlights are on (but on my old '00 TL, it ONLY dimmed the interior rearview mirror, and not the side mirrors--much cheaper to do it this way). If you pushed the button to be pushed-out, it would be in the auto-dim off setting. You could leave it on the pushed-in "auto" or pushed out "off" settings and it would stay there until you pushed it later (even after shutting off the car)--this is probably something that Romini probably wanted. Maybe they'll have a similar feature on the new GS?

yeah the setup on the TL is different (i like it that way actually). on my gs4 every time i start my car i have to push that botton to disable the feature

pete, in that case maybe it's the tint then.

I have the factory (very dark) tint on my rear window. (2015 Lux CPO)
I’ve never been able to make my dim feature work... always the same (seems dimmed) despite turning on/off (green light toggles)

I have a dealer service coming up, and will have them investigate.

(Oops, wrong forum, but same problem, same mirror.... so I’ll leave it as it’s not specific to the car...)

Default Two things:

1st, FYI, if you hold the button down, it will turn the compass off.

2nd, does anyone know the exact patch of the wiring? I assume it goes down the drivers A pillar, but where from there? It would probably not be hard to insert a toggle switch in-line and run it to a panel, somewhere.
