If you're looking for the performance - as I recall back in the 90's the LS400 was always faster than the Q45 even with infinit's larger displacement V8. I *think* this still holds true today.

Mariusz - I agree-cover up the lights and you have..maxima. Don't get me wrong though, I very much like the styling of the M45, but am really looking forward to see the new GS. =)

And those extra inches in the length? Longer the car is the worse it handles. Think Limo on a track. =)

i still think that the GS430 and the 540 are still the top competitors in its class. no comparison. no offence, but i think even with it's monster 340hp engine, the M45 looks nasty. it reminds me of the old 70's american cars. just look at its side profile. looks like an old ranchero.

340hp at the wheels? So you mean close to 400hp at the crank then?

I'm 34 and wanted to look 30 something for as long as I can. The M45 is a very nice car and has different things going for it, but I think it fits better with the 50 something crowd. I drove a Nissan Maxima for the last three years and was very pleased with the car.

I really thought I would by another Nissan or Infiniti but I kept coming back to the GS. I was hoping the extra 40 HP would get the car to 60 in 5.5 but its slower than the GS as is.

I think you'll be happy with the M45 but very happy with the GS430. Resale value will most likely go to the Lexus.

Good luck.
I can totally agree with your post........I'll have to re-consider my decision.

Wait for the NEW GS, it will put the M45 to SHAME!!! I've seen the M45 up close and didn't find the car to be all that. It lacks style in my opinion. It has no "distinctive style". The old J30 had more style. My dad just bought 02 QX4, and it's a great car, but notthing close to a Lexus quality car! Good luck...

Talking m what???

i will be the first to admit i was pumped about another sportsedan someing out...boy was i mistaken!! i seen pics...but i tell ya i did not like the flat front and the weird looking trunk...the interior...ah nice..and i am not bias cuz of my gs...just a different feel. but that 340 hp the mags give it doesn't mean much. the latest automobile mag states the m doing 0-60 in 6.6...kinda slow for 340...lol...but anyway...go with the gs...much better looking

the M45 drove right past me as i was walking the other day. and while it isnt as good looking or tuff as the the gs, it didnt look bad and had kind of a ballsy attitude.

gs all the way

hey you guys wassup.

to be honest with you m45 aint all that. i was pretty hyped up and expecting something really nice since infiniti had all this time to do research and compare and build a car that would actually "comepete" with the lexo, bimmer, audi crowd. less than a week ago i stopped by infiniti of santa monica and checked out the black m45 they have in the showroom. leather isnt much high quality. its a lil to simple and plain inside. lexus is way better. dont get me wrong the car was very pleasing to MY eyes from the outside but inside it doesnt have much going on. it is pretty big. but left the m45 and sat in the lexo it was no comparison honestly. i was expecting to much i guess? none the less the m45 is a great car and im sure it packs a punch but lexus or the bimmer is the way to go. hope i was of some help

peace out club lexo

The M45 is used as a taxi cab in Japan, yep and 5 series BMW and the E and S Class Mercedes are used for taxi's in Europe, what a joke th E320, unless it's AMG'd or Sport model, it's such a POS for old fart's.......

Just wanted to put my .02 in:

In case you like to mod your car, aftermarket support is another factor to consider. In case you don't like to mod your car, a lot of people's complaints could be remedied with some aftermarket add-ons (TC, springs / shocks, sways, etc.)

I don't know if M45 has some performance support in JDM.

Anybody knows?
