Putting Volk SF Challenges on a 98 GS400
So I picked up a set of used Volk SF Challenge wheels from a friend to put on my 98 GS for the spring and summer. They are 18X8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear. I'm not quite sure what the offset is, but I require about 3/8" spacers in the front and 1/4" in the rear.
They say that to get these on I'd need wheel hub extenders, because with the spacers there is not enough bolt thread to hold the wheels on securely. These are expensive and I'm looking for some better alternatives.
Does anyone have experience with this sort of setup? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

A quarter inch is only about 6 mm the factory hubs extend beyond that. No need for hub extenders. The 3/8s works out to just shy of 10mm, a good spacer with a built in hub extender is only going to run you about 100 bucks.
The volks should have the offset stamped on the barrel somewhere.
Another thing to look at is the hub size of the wheel. Many aftermarket wheels have a 70mm hub bore. The GS has a 60.something bore. If the wheels are not the proper bore you'll need hub rings as well

Ah, thanks for that info, it's really helpful. I took my car to 3 different tire techs, and none could tell me that much. None of them even mentioned the hub ring... *Facepalm
Looking into it the Volks have a 73.1mm bore so I'll definitely need the hub ring. I think I'll order some Aluminum 73.1 / 60.1 rings off ebay.
Again your help is much appreciated. I look forward to trying these fellas out.
