Will taller front tires on my 2nd generation gs mess with the VSC?
Funny question. I am picking up some used Volk rims from a friend and for some reason he has tires in the front that are about an inch taller than the rears.
I'm thinking of just mounting them on my 1998 GS400 and then switching to a lower profile tire once I find a good pair for a good price. Though I'm aware that this might confuse my VSC / ABS / traction control system, so..
Is there anyone who can give insight into some problems I may or may not run into?

I dont want to thread jack, but its funny you ask. A few weaks ago I had to get my front end resprayed. My car is slammed on 19's, the body shop asked me to put the oem wheels on for the front and raise it. Ever since then I now have the vsc, abs and tcs light on. I relowered the front and installed the wheels and still nothing. I hope I helped, I'm not to sure how to fix the lights, but dont do it

@ 2GS300: I was wanting to find a decent used set of high end tires, rather than quickly procure some cheap new ones. I just figure the Volks deserve to be wrapped in something decent but I'm not made of $$. And I'd rather put these rims on ASAP because they're awesome.
@bluwagon: That sucks. I think you've persuaded me to not do this. I think the Lexus dealer could quickly clear these lights now that you're back to your normal setup. It'd probably cost the same as it does to pull codes (~$100) and wouldn't take long.
I was thinking it might be okay just to turn the VSC off, though I think I have my life to thank for it and I'd probably forget to turn it off at some point anyways just like I forget to release my parking brake sometimes..

Also, bluwagon, I'm not entirely sure this would work.. but if you disconnect your battery entirely I believe it would reset the system and clear all those lights. This may save you the cost of going to the dealer. Either way you don't really have much to lose.

Thanks, I'll try this method, the weird thing was when I hooked up a scanner, nothing came up but I will try the battery method now, I'll let you know what happens
