Default Anyone? Need help on measuring resistance on solenoid

Ive been looking....looking ...............and looking.

I finally removed my shift solenoid. A little history, hooked up my scan tool and read that shift solenoid "c" malfun****ion. Now all i need is for someone to explain how to measure resistance on the solenoid itself. Other threads explain how to but doesnt correlate to my solenoid. This solenoid only has one metal pin. I have the ohm meter been messing with it but i need to know exactly before i go any further.

My question is how do i test the solenoid itself, and how would i test the connector where the solenoid plugs into. The plug has 2 pins.

Im trying to do cross elimination. If it was wiring, more than one code would pop up (solenoid code) . (correct me if im wrong). Thanks a million...thanks for your time
