so i did my spark plug change today and in the process accidentally pried and bent the throttle body gasket.. the one that connects the throttle body to the intake manifold. all in all job took me like 3 hours, i put everything back together ( tried my best to straighten out the gasket its made of a pretty thick steel and covered in rubber... but its still bent no longer flushed with the intake manifold.) i started her up and it starts but then dies i did it again and gave her a rev , it rev and then dies but then that time i can hear a faint pop or spark sound when it dies im thinking a misfire ? no clue.. some advice would be much appreciated , im trying to find a new or use gasket first, im thinking possibly the leak? but whats the spark noise. car was running real smooth before i did the plugs.

I think you need to upgrade your Distributor, Thicker Spark Plug wires, get racing fuel and NOS. It should then idle at 3k RPM. lol j/k i'm not a mechanic, good luck and hope you resolve your issue soon.

Make sure you are using dual tip spark plugs.

update... got a new gasket from the dealer msrp is 75 bucks lol , do not pry this **** like i did. well i got the last one and it was an open package so i got it for 52 from longo lex. took everthing apart and vaacumed and cleaned everything... might as well had to take the mind off the stress. put everything back together and crossed fingers. started up like a champ. fruit for thought. wanna disable someones gs drill a hole in to homeboys throttle body gasket. lol vaccum leak was the culprit this time, pheeew!
