300whp without forced induction

for the 5-7k it will cost for the transmission/conversion it is incredibly stupid on a NA motor making 300hp, now if you make 600-800+ i would def say go for it.... remember you could always build your tranny not to mention you loose less boost "in between shifts" on a automatic compared to a manual. although i miss owning a manual alot the cost factor outweighs the means for me...

I dont think it would be stupid. You gotta think exclusivity. To be honest I think if we HAD TO, anyone can afford that 5-7k but you wont see many or ANY doing a 6mt mod. I will put money on a relatively stock gs4 with 6mt aganst a well modded, bolt-on GS4. Thats how much of a difference a tranny swap will make. I also bet that a 6mt will allow a relatively stock GS4 consistantly hit 13.4s in the 1/4 mile. Similar to a 300whp modded GS4 with the oem auto tranny. So in turn, imho I feel this tranny mod is like adding close to 50whp. I dont think anyonw realizes just how bad and slow shifting our oem auto trannys are.

I already have all of the Manual Tranny conversion parts purchased to do this, but I'm not in a hurry. If I come across a good 6 speed, I will prob pull the trigger and get this project sta-a-ar-ted!
With the 400rwHP I'm at, I am underutilizing the power, since the tranny gearing and downshifting are the biggest barriers to fun factor in my car.
It really sucks when driving at the wrong speeds and then when you go WOT it will shift to 2nd for a split second then jumps to 3rd. I usually go to e-shift mode, but it will still not stop the tranny from kicking down another gear if it needs to. I am forced to pedal the power on a bit gradually to keep the tranny from shifting down. That's no fun not being able to punch it.
A manual will provide a lot better control of the power curve and improve overall driveability.
It would be an unreasonable expense to do this on a non-FI motor, but yes i think it would be a great improvement on drivability as well.

There is the Valve Body upgrade. Are there any other upgrades for our Auto Transmission? I know Auto isn't as great as Manual but I'm guessing Upgrading our current Tranny would be a lot cheaper than swapping another Transmission in its place.

wouldnt say its stupid persay. but its not as cost effective as any other mods. Me personally ide run a stock GS4 with 6 speed manual over a 300 whp GS4 auto only because of it having manual.
