At auction (which is typically considered black book value) that car, depending on options would be roughly 3k-5k depending on location of auction....and once again options......

In a Fla auction......more on the 4-5k range.

You cant be serious... Maybe for a 1998 model, but definitely not for a 2002-2003.

You must not go to auctions very often eh?

Down in Fla is the best place to go to auction. With 20k.....you can come home with 3-4 cars that can net triple that 20k......

It's no joke down there. And I have been to 5-6 auctions in various locations in SC/Fla

edit: An example. My 06 G35 coupe everything but nav went for 8k at auction. Dealer sold it to me for a 10k profit. Its retail was 25k at the time. 43k miles back in 2010. So I still got a good deal vs retail. I just don't have cash on me like that for the most part. Other wise I would only buy from auctions......then you have to fight the stealerships with over 400k at their disposal at auctions.

Trade in was most likely 3500. Depending if the 2 dealers are affiliated with one another.....most likely sold for 4200 for a quick profit.

Then sold to a customer for around 7-9k
