Smile Introduction Post: 2002 Black GS300

What's up fellas.

Just got back yesterday after driving home my new 2002 GS300 with only 52K miles on it, clean title, all the way from Los Angeles to Portland. A member by the name of JamesN on here was selling his super clean Lexus, and me being in the market for one immediately flew down to buy it. (If you see this, thanks again James) Looking to start a VIP project and building this car right.

Thanks for looking, and you guys should be seeing a lot of me around here. I look forward to learning some new things from you guys as well as sharing my progression.

Any inexpensive beginner mods I should consider doing? Going to start off with lighting first, HID's and full LED swaps. As for bigger mods coilovers or air ride will come first.

Thanks for looking.

On to the pictures...

I had been searching craigslist close to everyday the last month and a half for an 01+ that was black on black with at least under 120k. Searched all over the west coast and waiting finally payed off. If I was for sure buying this, I wanted to make sure it was flawless and exactly how I wanted it.

Thanks again guys.

I'd definitely do a LED interior lighting swap. Hit up Tony @ LuxuryMods for the "Super Bright" 2GS Package. It'll replace EVERY light inside the GS and last time I heard it was around 120 shipped. It's a great beginner mod to do.

I wouldn't do HID's, just because the GS300 isn't build with the bowls for them so it's going to glare up the road and look 'ricey' in my opinion. If anything just look for a retrofit in the classifieds. You may be able to pick up a M45/35 or LS430/460 retro for about $600 or so. It may be the camera, but your headlights look a wee bit hazy. Buff them up it'll really clean up the car also.

I'd also clear the corners markers. You can get those on ebay..

And i'd upgrade the grille to a 01+.. Those are minor mods and lighting mods that I think you won't regret.

Good luck with your build.

I'll look into your recommendations.

As far as the headlights they are still a little hazy but definitely better than what they were. This is what they looked like after I got back and with the millions of bug splatters over the 980+ mile drive. Lol.

Wet sanded them with 800/1500/2000 grit and followed up with some Scratch X 2.0. Should have maybe gone as low as 400 though.

Again, thanks for the replies guys. I'm feeling the love <3 haha.
