Angry 2gs HID replacement to 6000K Philips D2S

Before I get flamed! Yes, I tried "SEARCH" and I used the link below:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...placement.html

It was of little help to me as I do not really know what I am doing even with these instructions.

I got 4200K OEM Sylvania bulbs out with much effort. As far as I know I did not break anything, but when I tried to install the 6000K bulbs I didn't really get much of a feel that I was putting them in properly (I know this because the connections keep falling apart!). Yes I removed the POS of the battery before doing anything. Yes I am sure they are 35w. I bought the Philips D2S 6000k 85122WX Ultinon that people have raved about on this site. No I did not deviate from the instructions by removing a screw of some kind or anything else extra. PLEASE someone help me! I went to my local Lexus Stealership that hates the fact my gs is modded (the old men try to lecture me EVERY time) as it is and they wanted to rape me at the cost of $100 just to put the dag gone things in! One guy went on and on how two people fried their ballasts (sp?) trying to do what I did and that is why he hates everything aftermarket. I mean really dude?! I know you have to do your job, but do you have to crap on everyone else who doesn't drink your company Kool-Aid?! They tried to come up with every excuse not to help me! I could go on but that would just be rambling about more dumb stuff he said and fruitless! Does ANYONE have any helpful advice? Is there someone local here in the St. Louis area that knows how to do this and has some sympathy for me?!

I'd really hate to bend over for something that would seem so trivial as so many other members have done this on their own already!

Just be aware the oem hid's came with and were designed for a D2R (reflector housing) bulbs, the D2S bulbs are for projectors.

So that means the bulbs won't work as is? What do I need to make them work? Resister adapters? Can you recommend me something? I don't recall reading anything about that.

I think the notch on the base is different between D2S and D2R. You can probably mod the D2S base to fit the D2R. Or return the D2S, and get the proper D2R bulb, cause the D2S bulb might give unwanted reflection that can blind other drivers.

lol u probably bought d2s bulbs

if your headlights are halogen, they should be 9006.

keep in mind when you put them on (similiar to when you took them off) they should lock in. if its falling around loosely u prob bought the wrong bulb size.

If you've got OEM HID's, they are d2r bulbs rather than d2s like 99 GS3 said, the base of the bulbs would need to be notched to fit properly. This can be done easily (with care) with a dremel, take a look at the wide black ring in the middle of your stock bulbs and the new bulbs next to each other and you'll see what you need to do.
