I think there is an important piece of the puzzle missing here. Both are very nice cars, both have enough HP, both cars have several aftermarket "MODS" asking to be slapped on but...... how 'bout service? Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Lexus receive a higher "Customer Satisfaction" rating then BMW. If that's the case, I would try to sell your dad on this very point. Tell him he would be getting A+ service on an awesome luxury car which can be loaded with the full "L-Tuned" package still covered under warranty. Can't beat that! GO LEXUS........

just went from gs4 to 540. all i can say is they are both great. the 540 comes ready to drive, you are talking about adding another 6k in extra enhancements just to drive it faster. which is fine, if there is a local autobahn. go with looks first, both cars will do about 100 mph over the speed limit of 55.

All right guys, thanks again for the help.

Talked to my parents, and GS4 it is!!!!!!!!

Are there any GS bodykits that can be driven in snow? Would the stock 17s with stock tires be able to handle snow well?

-my dad's main problem is whether the car can handle snow-

Just get a set of snow tires & wheels for the winter then he'll be all set for snow.

Congrats on the GS430 decision. Reliability and serviceability of the Lexus is head and shoulders above the BMW.
