Default alpine m-1000 amp

does it matter if i get a different branded amp? im not too familiar with audio type stuff..and is this amp compatible with my gs300 subs? any help would be great. thanks

Doesnt matter what brand. But when did the gs come with subs? (plural) If you're speaking of the factory 10", 1000watts is WAY too much buddy. As for compatability, I'm pretty certain you cant use an aftermarket amp using the signal from the factory sub. I would think using a hi/low converter would do the trick, but I believe I've read there are problems using one with the GS.

Do some searching, there are a LOT of topics on this.

1000w on the stock free air sub might be fun for like 3 seconds.
