Default Opinions... Deciding whether to buy gs400

Hello everyone, I havee been looking for a gs for a couple months. I posted once or twice already about cars looking to purchase and the cars have been sold under me... I found another one. It is a silver on grey interior 1999 gs400 with 162k miles. It has navi, xenon, heat seat, nakamichi, etc. Owner has service records since 80k miles. They said they did the waterpump and timing belt at 130k miles. Inside is actually very good condition for a 1999. No tears or rips on leather and is very clean. He is asking 7000 But I have been watching his ad for a while. What is a good asking price to offer? I would be paying all cash upfront. I was thinking 5500? Thanks and any tips for anything I forgot to look for while inspecting please let me know. Thanks everyone.

thats about average actually a little high for the price. they are considerably dropping insanely though, i bought mine for basically double that a year ago.

from what i can see the car is just mediocre.

btw. he wont drop from 7000 to 5500 just like that.

Wow really? Can you elaborate about the mediocre part? You are also saying $5500 would be average or higher than average? Ive literally searched all craigslist of florida and texas which are fairly more known for cars for sale and cant find one for less than 5.5k. Unless its crap condition. I was just basing my prices by kbb or nada i guess. Thanks for insight

kbb is never really accurate when it comes to cars.

by mediocre, im talking about the price and cant speak for the condition/quality of the seats, interior, exterior, etc. unless i have pictures

is just average for the year, mileage, etc.

Ok I understand now. The the average price for something like this is 5.5k? or were you referring to his asking price of 7k as too high?
