Yea. Good idea. Can I buy the gauge setup at any auto parts store? The compression should be 10:5:1 correct? If the engine is shot. Should I a. Replace with a turbo supra motor. (sorry not to good with the engine model numbers yet) or would I be better off in the long run building the bottom end? I'm totally new to Lexus. Not to boost though. I had a 475hp talon tsi in the early 2000's. Unfortunately I went over the top and rendered the car useless as a daily driver. I don't want to make the same mistake. FYI. I do have a Avalon that I can drive on a daily basis. But I love the Lexus. It's a phenomenal feeling car. I've been reading all the posts and it seems like a lot of people would rather just do the swap. My problem is that I don't want to limit myself in the future if I'm going through the labor of pulling the motor I don't want to have to do it every 6 months. Once then hopefully done is the plan. At least it sounds great on paper. Lol. Thanks.

If you decide to go the NA-T route with our 2GS 2JZ you'll need to rebuild the engine. Also our tranny can hold up to about 300~350HP and that's about it. If you want to, you can rebuild a tranny or find a aftermarket one that will withstand the HP you're going to want to make.
To my if you want a build with less headaches, just buy the 2JZ-GTE from a supra and get a built tranny enough to withstand the power of the 2JZ. Anywhere from 400~1000+ HP if you want to.
Either way, if you build it correctly like usa5655 said, you'll have minimal problems. If you want more info look up JeffTsai and his 2JZ 2GS. It's pushing somewhere around 850HP.

If you do have the money and don't what your doing then going with the SRT kit is a decent route to consider..
Yes!
There is much to read there.
NO!
He has said before to not PM him, inbox is usually full anyway. As well as this is the the weekly "I did Zero searching before posting about GTE/Turbo" thread, and there is days of reading on here to do.

I'm looking to be around 500 hp. I'm purchasing a used trans for 500$ tomorrow and getting it built the right way. Clutch kit/shift kit and whatever else Itp plans to do to it. It's going to cost 3395 for the trans plus torque converter and cooler. From what I've read it should take almost anything I can throw at it. As far as the motor goes. Of I buy the tt supra motor it really just drops in. Uses my harness and bolts up to my trans?!! If that's the case it's a no brainier. I won't lose the vsc or any of my cars features. I am going to look at Jeff's pages now. Thanks for the info. Im already feeling like a 10 yr old at Christmas. Lol. I love Toyota/Lexus. They have the best engineers in the world. Lol.

If 500whp is your goal and you're already getting a built tranny then there's no need for a complete gte swap. Just pull your head off, send it to a machine shop to ensure it's okay. Drop in. TT head gasket with some good rods and pistons and you're good to go with the SRT kit. You'll need bigger injectors and fab up fuel return system and most importantly a good EMS. If you do it right the first time your car will be just as reliable as it is right now.
