WIRELESS KEY IMMOBILIZER PROBLEM also manual key not working
Hello Lexus Forum Members
This is my first post,so go easy on me. I have a 1998 Lexus GS 300 with a key problem.
My daughter locked the non auto key in the back seat on a child booster seat. This key is the solid black key. We've been using this key as the primary key came apart, and when last used it was working. We looked everywhere and found this primary push button key. I tested the battery and had to replace the battery, was bad. When we tried to open the doors using this key.nada. My son in-law went to a auto body friend and borrowed some tools to expand the door with a rubber bladder thingy and he opened the door finally. Now, the car door won't lock with the solid black plastic key. Do I need to reprogram these keys with the procedure found at Alldata, or do I need to bring it in to a Lexus dealer for the hand held reprogram? We had already contacted 2 Lexus dealers in our area prior to getting the secondary or solid black key retrieved, and they were stumped by the fact the auto key wouldn't work manually. Thanks for any advice or help on this.
