Default Glove Compartment. Creaking

I know many have had the glove compartment rattling (like a freakin corolla). I know u can put some type of material on opposite ends of the rubber thingies. Does anyone know what I'll need exactly, where I could find the material and exactly where it should be placed?

I have the same problem you do. It's driving me nuts. I took it in to the dealer a while back and they said they replace the locking mechanism or something. I thought that fixed it, but it came back after a little while. I took it back in to show the tech what was wrong. I took him for a drive around so he could hear where the problem was coming from. And you guessed it, there was no sound. I didn't know what to say. The tech didn't know what to do since he couldn't hear any creaking. Well, a little after I drove off, the sound came back. I was so pissed. I still haven't found the solution and my warranty is over. If anyone knows what I can do to get rid of that annoying sound, that would be great.

i fixed mine myself just the other day. i took it to the dealership and had it "fixed via the TSB" 2 times. but it still rattled. the rattle is coming from the glovebox light switch. if you open the glovebox, on the right side of the door you will notice a small circular piece of plastic that is raised about 1/10 of and inch. i placed a small piece of a "rubber bumper" (from walmart) there. what this does is, it pushes that "plunger" in further and stops the rattling.

basically it is the same idea as the lexus TSB, but i used something thicker in place of the felt that they use. hope this helps someone.

Try this. Don't know if it'll work or not. If it does, please be discreet.
