You drive a gs4 nice and it really rewards you with nice mpg. I am keeping to 65 tops (speed limit 55) and accelerate reasonable, faster than most, but not leaving people in the dust. Cruise control as much as I can.

As much as I have been reading lately on oil viscosity and engines, if Lexus blessed us with running 5w20 then by all means run it. It is MUCH more complicated than clearances. I will run 0w20 synthetic when I change oil next. We are going into winter months now too, so the cold starts need the thinner oil. If you do short trips where the engine doesn't get the oil up to 220f or so, then anything thicker than 5w20 is just hurting you.

I normally see 22-23 and first tank on 5w20 saw 26.x. 300 miles and only half tank is awesome!

Now if I could do like my friend did in his 06 Mercedes E320 CDI. 43 @ 80 mph.....

Gotta admit a 300 hp v8 getting 28+ on the highway is cool!

Check your speedo, mine reads low, so to accurately do mpg I have a small correction factor. Not much, but it is there. Gps shows me around 73 when I am at 70 real. My tires are pretty much done, probably why. I am trying to wait till I put snow tires on.

So far I have yet to get below 19 city, but I drive sane most of the time too.

My Park Ave Ultra gets me driving mostly the same around 15-16 city (Supercharged V6). The Lex V8 is much more efficient. My best in the Buick has been 33.5 and 35 highway. It rocks when you can get out of the boost....

My 94 Fleetwood with the 7000 lb tow package would get me best of 22 highway and same driving as the Lexus city/highway, 19. I have never got below 15 mpg except for running E85 and even E85 rarely got below 15 unless temps were below 35F out. It hsa the factory 3.42 gears and the cam is sooo small in the LT1 it is out of powerband on the highway cruise. It is best suited for 2.56's and 0.7 OD, most get mid to high 20's highway with a 5000 lb barge!

I do a lot of driving and watch fuel economy and things that affect it a lot.

Tell me about it, I commute 40 miles each way, and with some driving at home, every 4 days I have to fill.... It is $4.28 for premium here now.

I typically fill around 350, sometimes as much as 400, but the gauge was reading pretty accurate until a couple weeks ago it left me stranded 60 miles from home at night with 1/8 tank showing on the gauge and 6+ miles in any direction for a gas station.... I love Wisconsin State Police, they were EXTREMELY helpful.

Damn, at $4.57 for 92 octane, 30mpg would be my wallets best friend.

That pick would not equal 30 you would be just below quarter tank. No way is that 30 mpg that is about 28mpg half a tank is around 10 gallons so you are too close to the half point. My guess is you put more in the tank in the fill up before the trip vs after the trip.

That is the recent mpg, not the 30 highway tank.

I was on target for 25ish till tonight, my daughter had a cheerleading practice accident and my wife and I made the mad dash to the school and then I led the ambulance hospital.... I love a v8......
She is okay, bad foot and ankle sprain. At least not obviously broken. She has to see surgeon to be sure all is okay and what to do for recovery.

I filled up the other day over 300 miles at just passed half tank. I forced in 12 gallons.

Now I was not too long far off, but now about 250 miles at half tank. Probably guessing 24ish now. Still better than I had been getting. Mpg is a fussy thing to measure accurately and consistently, too many environmental variables.
