FUEL ISSUES!...mpg and gauge
ok CL i did some searching and couldnt find answers only debates lol
i have a 99 gs300 with stock motor
im gettin right about 15mpg which is problem 1.....i know thats bad for a 3.0l sedan
problem number 2....fuel light comes on and i run out of gas way too soon....like right under 1/4 tank
that happened beginning of the year though....i fill up before i get to 1/4
i put 15gallons last time and only had 221 miles
main concern is the milage
2nd concern is why gauge is acting like that
i remember readin long time ago about it not being the fuel pump but its a secondary jet or pump in the fuel line....but cant find that same thread again
thanks in advance

lucky you man, i'm getting anywhere between 16-18 mpg in a 2000 gs300 stock with 186k. any advice on how to get the mpg more towards your range? aside from usual tune up tips and having a light foot?

Dee... When did u have a tune up and what did that consist of? Cause honestly thats the first thing i'd do. How u drive is a factor but what ur driving is the biggest. Cant run a mile under 6 minutes with beer and hot links if u know what im saying. **** has to breathe right... The car has lungs bro urs seems lower than normal to say the least.
Thats like drivin a lifted truck chipped

What kind of driving do you do ? City/hwy ? I do half n half and I'm getting 20 + mpg on my 430. I know I read somewhere on here about gas gauges not reading right, I think it had to do with people replacing the fuel pumps and some how messing up the hanger assemblies can't exactly remember

01 GS3 w/ around 134k here, driven on the weekends mainly and sometimes during the week.
I usually cover around 500~550km on one tank (level to bottom of gauge), so about 11L/100km or 21~22mpg in your speak
