I bought this car three months ago and while I was removing the headlights I noticed I was running 9006 halogen bulbs. Once I removed the entire headlight I saw the ballast on the bottom but it was not connected to anything. The plug was just kind of dangling there. I searched for another plug to plug it in but there was none to be found. The car came with the factory specifiation sheet and I saw HID equipped. Is this something I should be concerned about?

sounds like you have aftermarket (halogen) headlights.

maybe car was in an accident or owner replaced the HID-equipped headlights with Halogens bought from the forums.

That's what I was thinking but I can just get a hid conversion kit and make it work with a little modification??

not too sure about the conversion kit. I would think you would need new headlights

but if your car was indeed HID equipped there should be autoleveling in the trunk (IIRC)





Another option is to retrofit, TBH most people hate the autolevel (HID) headlights in the 2gs.

It does have auto leveling since I always see the headlight beam move up when I turn on the car in the mornings. Also I saw the connector when I disassembled the headlights

before spreading incorrect information you should educate yourself or refrain from making statements. The Autoleveling sensors are connected to the suspension arms via small links which are in the WHEEL WELLS
