Telescopic Steering Wheel Problem
Hey Guys.
As of recent my steering wheel column has about an inch of play in any position, locked or otherwise.
Everything works as it should, memory, all positions, etc. But when its set, the whole column moves in the vertical plane about 1 inch in full travel.
Hoping someone on CL can assist?
thanks

If everything works, but the WHOLE column has vertical play, check the nuts holding the column in place. See diagram below.
You may have to remove the underpanel to get to the nuts. Can't remember. In the diagram I'm talking about part number 90179-10168. Labelled underneath the square in the diagram.
See if that helps. Don't remember what the torque specs are.
PS, I can't see posted images here at work, so I don't know if it posted or not. If not just go to the link.

I swear these telescopic wheels have mind of there own, mine sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, i would of settled for a manual adjustment if i had the option. just another mechanism to go bad.
